July Visiting Teaching Bowls

I just moved to the area and so this month was my first attempt at visiting teaching.  I wanted to make something fun for our first visit.  These bowls are suppose to be "Julyish" and "Sunshine" themed.  They have licorice, otter pops, lemonade mix, popcorn, and a box of sparklers.  I also added a little card with our contact information that said, "Let us help your light keep shining."

Finally, I made rock magnets with a special quote of encouragement since this months message was on being a better and more effective visiting teacher.  It also fit my "sunshine" theme.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dollar store.  I have scored so many great containers from there.  The three bowls in the picture were purchased from there.  All together I spent somewhere around $20 for the three bowls.

Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys

So we are having another boy.  Yay huh?  Boys are great!  I've been working hard sewing and crafting to decorate the cowboy themed room the boys will be sporting.
Here are some of the items I've completed so far.
This is the cradle sized blanket I made.  It matches the twin sized quilt on my 3 year old's bed.

I love my cricut!  This is my favorite cartridge.  I use it  a lot.  Anyway, I have been busy making little cowboy paper dolls to hang around the top of the wall as a fun border.
